Unsolved "Sync from repository" button not doing anything on click

When trying to re-link my GitHub repo to my Screeps account (it wasn't uploading changes, which is an entirely separate bug) I tried clicking on the sync from repository button but it simply played an animation and stopped. I'm not sure the cause or how to reproduce. It should have taken me to a page where I could link my repo to my account.

same thing is happening to me. I had a repo that used to work, but it was not syncing anymore. I can authorize Screeps to get to my Github account, but then it never asks about which repo or which directory to use.

I tried setting the repo up for the first time and ran into this exact issue. Selecting "Sync from repository" plays an animation then stops and that's it.

This is most likely due to Github changing what authentication methods are allowed to be used for 3rd party apps when connecting to a repository.
You will notice the following error produced when clicking the "Sync from repository" button:
error: "{"message":"Must specify access token via Authorization header. https://developer.github.com/changes/2020-02-10-deprecating-auth-through-query-param","documentation_url":"https://docs.github.com/v3/#oauth2-token-sent-in-a-header"}"
