      I guess I will write my thoughts also. I wasn't here for first season so this was my first take on seasonal, but I am not new player also, I was playing around 2018-2019 and then had a break from, game, so I jumped in with two years old code. Overall I did surprisingly better than i expected (got 16-th place).

      • Place brackets was too wide for my taste (mb cause of that was, that there wasn't too much player competing), but around beginning of second month I figured out that I have no chance to get into top 10 (at least with time I have on hand for codding), but in the same time I was pretty sure I don't drop bellow 30 place. That caused I started to lose interest in fighting for better place. I wish there was more incentivise for fight for each place.
      • Highway walls was pain for working with, but I liked it. My code for getting around them was crappy, but that was mostly because i had more pressing issues with my 2 years code that I was in need of fixing. I don't mind if for them to be in next season, and i even want them. I liked gathering score, and overall it wasn't too hard to get it started, so I think it was easy enough to start getting them for more freshly players.
      • As Tigga said, boosting was problem this season from my perspective. As player with no alliance or in game friends it was hard to compete for high places.
      • I was missing market. I know it was for better to disable it, for above reason, but maybe enable it to trade with "npc"? So you can trade resources that you have too much for more needed ones. It sure should be balanced, so there is still better to plan rooms for mining desired resources, but at least you could have something to do with all that oxygen and hydrogen. Also, you can transfer that code for persistent server. Also, factories would be more viable that way.

      Not much feedback but i want to share also: yea, Tigga was extorting me, but overall I didn't end to badly with that barging compared to players that got totally wiped out and needed to respawn. I think it was good deal for me (I didn't have chance to fight since my war code was pretty non-existent at this point of game). I even enjoyed it somewhat (Stockholm syndrome? xD) I think it can be nice addition to game, but to that happen, big players need to have harder time to control large spans of territory.

      Yeah, that would be great. I could add some complex data display withoud need to set on/off display to see anything.

      And this makes perfect sense. With current status you know what you will get with next regeneration (and perhaps adjust your strategy to that), and after that you get info on next regen, so you get more info. If you first change then regenerate, density mineral is basicly random.

      Still to low for me :C I want to create buy and sell orders for all resources, and to do that i need at least 82 orders (+2 for subscription tokens), and this is only when i want to trade only on one shard - and i was planing to make trading posts on other shards.

      Cause of limitation orders to 50, there is a little orders in intermidie compounds.

      Maybe increase market orders, as you progress with GCL?

      A lab can produce 1 unit of produce per tick, so you can build parallel chains of labs in one or more rooms to speed up the process. One lab cannot contain more than one mineral type at the same time.

      It should say that you produce 5 resource at once, and there is 10 tick cooldown.

      Also would be nice to add that cooldown is only on target lab, so you can use same source labs for multiple reaction ( i felt in that trap :C )

      I know that, i actually made some credits, but if i want sell ST for let say 3,000,000 i need 150,000 credits which can be high for beginning players thus holding them from pumping money in yours game :)

      I'm thinking on purchasing subscription token (for $$$) and selling it on market, but if i want to place order i will need a lot of credits for that, so actually im not able to do that, so maybe decrease it to 1%?

      Or... make sell order for ST free, and leave 5% on buy orders?

      I think it will make easier for new players to sell tokens => more $$$ for You :)

    • LIFE – new body part

      Hi! I see somebody suggested this here: http://screeps.com/forum/topic/1460/Extend-life-body-part-for-creeps?input_string=LIFE%20%E2%80%93%20new%20body%20part but i wand to write my approach on this topic (actually i wrote this down, and then saw that post on forum).

      ---

      I have idea for new body part, let call it LIFE:

      • Creeps spawned with LIFE will have 25 (example number) more max ticksToLive (and will spawn with full lifetime). For example: creep that will be created with 4 LIFE body part, will spawn with 1600 tick instead of normal 1500.
      • Don't work on creeps with CLAIM body part.
      • It will have only 5 hit point (so it can't be used instead of TOUGHT).
      • It would have rather high energy cost.


      I think it can create some new, interesting options. It can save u compounds (hence u don't need to spawn creep so often) or increase creep range, but it also will have some downsides: it will increase build time, it will lock place so must build less powerful creeps with it, and it will increase energy cost of creep (or not, depending on it final energy cost).

      Another option is that it will increase ticks by formula: + 200/totalBodyPartsCount. So it will work better on smaller creeps.

      It could be boosted with some new compound, to further increased max ticksToLive, but in that case it need to renewed with Spawn.renewCreep , and it will don't clear this upgrade. Thanks to that, renewCreep will have new nice purpose.
