Using this made it so the "world" button showed mmo world instead of the private server i was on previously, but the cr, and everything was for the private server.

Very cool! Anything that can make the forums a bit more active is a great thing IMO

This is a really good solution to make sure people see announcements! Only issue for me is it's not going away - what's the logic for when it shows?

@pruby It is shown when there is a new post in the News & Announcements section, and disappears when you click on that menu item.

@artch Ah hah, I have it. I habitually open links like that in a new tab by middle-clicking. This doesn't trigger your logic to clear the flag.
