NPC market orders broken

  • Dear Devs,

We are facing two important issues:
    1. NPC's are selling for a lower price then they are buying
    2. NPC orders are sticking around with order amount 0

    Please fix.

    Kind regards,
    Atavus

I agree with atavus, this has become quite a nuisance.

A quick fix would very much be appreciated.

  • This is not conducive to making the market a viable game mechanic, and is a bug in dire need of attention before it causes further wealth inequality.

Please fix this soon, this needs attention ASAP.

Prices for buying have been way too high in general. You should take the average player price, divide it by something like four, and use that. NPCs shouldn't be actively competing with players- they should be a way to keep the market from collapsing.

Same thing goes for selling- the values should be significantly higher than the regular ones.

    1. NPC’s are selling for a lower price then they are buying

This is intended. We’re experimenting with dynamic automatic prices for both buy and sell NPC orders. In some cases, it is possible that buy orders will be higher than sell orders due to demand, the regional factor, and the energy transfer cost.

    2. NPC orders are sticking around with order amount 0

    This is fixed now.

You should take the average player price, divide it by something like four, and use that.

There is no “average player price” since the market is regional. NPC orders depend on demand in their world location instead.

NPCs shouldn’t be actively competing with players

NPC sell orders don’t compete with players, since their order volumes are tiny - total volume share of NPC transactions is less than 15%.

  • Interesting.

    Good to know.

Good incentive to implement an arbitrage algorithm to seek out possible profitable scenarios.

    Thanks for the prompt reply.
