Is PWR_SHIELD meant to use energy?

Docs have:
[exports.PWR_SHIELD]: { className: exports.POWER_CLASS.OPERATOR, level: [0, 2, 7, 14, 22], effect: [5000, 10000, 15000, 20000, 25000], duration: 50, cooldown: 20, **energy: 100,** },
But the tooltip doesn't say anything about energy nor (apparently) do creeps need it. Should this property be removed or does the skill need fixing?

Engine has no mention of energy... But yes I'd like to know if it needs energy or not, so I'd know if it's worth developing the power further.

Earlier versions of the skill had it using energy but it seemed to change not long before the release
