Give observers infinite range



  • It's strange that I can see any room but my code can't.

    Is there a gameplay reason that observers have limited range?

    I am sure there are some people whose code scrapes screeps.com to see whatever rooms it wants whenever it wants.

    For similar reasons, observers should be able to view rooms in other shards.

    "Visibility" in general seems like a game mechanic that creates more edge cases than it is worth. Does it exist for performance reasons or gameplay reasons?
