End of season questions

When does the season "flip" to the next month? What happens when the season flips? Does the map re-randomize? Any other places to find this info documented?

I don't think anything happens when the season changes over to the next month apart from resetting the leaderboard to 0 for everyone. It would be kinda bummer if everyone lost what they had each month and had to start over.
