Private server ticks slowing down
-
I'm making this post to see if this other post from years ago is still accurate:
https://github.com/screeps/screeps/issues/66
Basically, after a while, the ticks start to slow down like really badly. Or rather, the ticks slow down really badly, still happen, but the creeps aren't moving at all.
as can be seen in these 2 images. The creeps will move every hour or so ~ But why does it slow down, is there a way to fix it? Is the solution on that first link that I linked at the top a valid solution still? Are there other solutions? Lmk!

Quad Core processor with 8 GB of RAM ~ Thats the server we're playing on. There are 5 people, 4 bots. And it reached this point of doing like NOTHING around 15 hours after the server opened. It runs like a dream super fast really good when you do a reset, but then it slows down to this point again after a while.

Do you have access to the engine logs? They should be in the
logs
directory, under the largest numbered subdirectory.

As far as I know the logs only really show it increasing CPU usage, not who or what is doing it
Everything looks fine and then suddenly the engine log starting filling up with statements like: Main loop reset! Stage: waitForUsers

The upcoming update has some performance optimizations that may be related to this issue. Let's see what happens after the update. If that doesn't help, please raise the issue again.

Do we have a date at all for the update coming out? I really enjoy screeps and really appreciate the reply

@violet said in Private server ticks slowing down:
Main loop reset! Stage: waitForUsers
Yep, that’s what I remember of the issue. There was another post on the forums about it with a few potential solutions, but no progress in diagnosing it. https://screeps.com/forum/topic/2242/main-loop-reset-stage-waitforusers
