      Thank you. I'm having this problem for months already. I receive different error thogh. Downgrading pango indeed worked.. Let's hope this don't break anything else

    • Client won't work if the main servers are down

      Hi,

      yesterday there where server issues again, and i couldn't open the client for connecting with private servers. It was possible to open the client again after adding a entry to my host file with a nonsense ip for screeps.com

      Looks like it failed on fetching the community servers, and blocks the client from opening.

      Also, some communication would be nice with all the server issues lately

      @kotarou devs want to force enabling power. You can send your PC into a new players room and enable it. How do you mean you must be big enough?

      Alright. Let's say they do it like you proposed. What's next? Limiting YOUR energy cap to reflect your neightbours? I also don't understand how it will solve the problem you are sketching.. Yes a player can boost with lower RCL, but you are still limited with bodypart count (i.e your boosts are useless)

      @mrfaul ah come on. Show me the replays where established players are wrecking new players with PCs... afaik there was not a single fight till today with a PC involved. The bounty is still not claimed. You can stop complaining and try to catch up, it's not that hard.. I was negative about PCs, and still would prefer the game without. But i can see how it can make the game interesting.. I'm GPL11 now with code written in a hour, far from optimal. But it works..

      @mrfaul I think it makes sense.. But i was talking about this: "The problem with boosts is that the current mechanic is complex but not really a challenge." please show me your rooms where you have nailed the entire boosting process, if not you still have some challenges to solve 😉

      @mrfaul Doing it right is a challenge. Everyone can code a transporter creep that puts it in labs, and some code to boost a creep. But optimizing it can be a real challenge. But i can assume that you can hold attacks for days without any problems, fully automated?

      @orlet shard1 from center to edge costs 8647 energy to transfer 10k energy. No math used here, just using default API methods. A bit higher then 60-70%.

      As for Community Managers (that is, @dissi-mark and @o4kapuk), please keep in mind they are volunteers. We are a small team, and can't afford having a dedicated PR specialist, but we believe it is a great product and great community that makes Screeps a great game rather than great PR.

      Those 2 are pretty active. But for new players it is not really clear they are the CM's.

      From what I can tell, most discord servers don't try to handle it at all, and simply leave all their channels enabled for everyone. Due to this (as others have stated), discord servers mostly have fewer channels.

      There is also no default functionality that allows users (aka not the server owner or admins) to create more channels. They can create a new server, but not channels within a server. From what I have seen in other games, they tend to have one main server with around 10-20 general channels, and the alliances/guilds make their own servers and post them in a bulletin board channel in the main server.

      So we get multiple servers with multiple channels. Looks like more mess to me?

      There is a indicator of the active members for each channel, and you can always take a look before you join a channel. The messy channel list is just something the discord likers will pull out of context. How is discord solving this issue?

      @gankdalf You can always leave channels you dont like. Actually, you only see the channels you selected yourself. All other channels are hidden behind a button. So this is not really a issue.....
