I should also mention this happened in several rooms he tried spawning in. The one thing the rooms had in common was that there was already a spawner there with Owner:Screeps. I don't have the room names though

Player 'Stians' placed his first spawn in this room where there was a spawner with Owner:Screeps. After a few seconds he got the popup saying he died and had to respawn. It seems the RCL is -1 even after he placed his spawn. About 90 mins later the same thing seems to happen to another player.
