Screeps Warfare Championship 2

We are restarting the Screeps Warfare Championship. The second edition of the SWC will be organised on a private server. We will be discussing the rules and setup this week. If you are interested in participating or watching, join us in https://screeps.slack.com/messages/C74MEE3D2
Atavus has very kindly offered to provide the server, making this possible. I will be organising the competition and sorting out the details. So if you have any questions direct them towards myself rather than Atavus.

I am pleased to announce that the registration for SWC-2 is now open! Rules for SWC-2
- There will be a 2 week sign up period from today until 25/10/2017 5 pm GMT.
- All players are randomly formed into 2 teams
- The competition lasts 4 weeks
- Domination victory: if at any point after 1 week one side manages to destroy all of the spawns of the other side that are not in safe-mode rooms then they can claim a domination victory.
- Otherwise the team with the most active power spawns at the end wins, (ie only power spawns in RCL8 rooms count)
- 50k credits sign up fee payable on the public server to me by purchasing UH from room "W4S29" on shard0 or "W5S13" on shard1. Payments must be made by the end of the sign up period.
- Once the teams are assigned participants can add up to 2.5m credits as a bet
- The winning team gets all proceeds of the games redistributed proportional to each member's bet from me after the contest.
- GCL starts and is frozen at 5
- CPU starts and is frozen at 50
- The rooms will be laid out in the same way as on the public server with SK rooms in the center of 9x9 sectors with highways.
- The number of sectors will be decided once the number of players is known, but there will be approximately one sector for every 10 players.
- There will be NPC terminals at the cross roads
- The tick rate will be one tick every 1.2 seconds.
- Re-spawning is allowed but its recommended that you get your team mates to rebuild your spawns.
Timeline: (exact times will be given nearer the start)
11th Oct: Sign up starts
25th Oct 5pm GMT: Sign up ends sign up fees must be paid to me. (by purchasing UH from me)
26th Oct: Teams announced and server open for spawn placement / code upload.
27th Oct: Game starts
24th Nov: Game ends (if neither team has earned a domination victory)

The second round of SWC is over and here is my write up of it:
The teams were decided randomly with @kasami and @bonzai and myself on team 1 and @atavus, @wtfrank, @nyoom & @ricane on team 2.
bonzai and kasami both made a blistering start using swarm tactics that are popular in the botareana. @atavus and @wtfrank started the aggression very early one as they attacked bonzais remote mines at RCL2, he managed to fend them off with tiny 1H2M1R creeps.
After the blistering fast start, things settled down as we all levelled up and team 2 were able to catch up a bit, but as unfortunately ricane was unable to be online in the first day meaning he had to restart. @nyoom was very aggressive in this stage performing some rather advanced attacks against mainly stevetrov but also bonzai and kasami. He used a phalanax of 4 (or more) ranged / heal creeps that kept in a rigid 2x2 formation meaning they could concentrate fire and healing. Using these tactics he trashed one of stevetrov's rooms twice, another once and at least one of bonzais rooms. nyoom also launched an attack against the controller in "W5N3" and stevetrov just saved it with < 500 ticks to go.
stevetrov tried some swarm attacks but with no success. @atavus and @bonzai had a intense fight over remote mining rooms with multi-creep squads being deployed on both sides and many creeps died on both sides before bonzai eventually gained the upper hand. @wtfrank continued to harass through out the game, mainly attacking remote mining rooms. His creeps were relatively intelligent and retreated from a fight they didn't think they could win. However, @wtfrank sacrificed economic growth for military might in the early game as so was unable to build bigger creeps in the later game. stevetrov copied nyooms tactics to take out wtfrank.
As rooms started hitting RCL6 boosts became part of the equation. nyoom had manged to obtain L, H & O giving him T2 healing boosts. stevetrov had L, K(from kasami), H & U and managed to get RCL6 SK mineral mining running to give him O & Z. This meant he could make all T2 boosts. With this significant boost advantage, when no one had boosted defenders he was able to fight through nyoom defences to take him out. ricane was having problems with his defences meaning there were large holes in his ramparts so he fell easily to stevetrov's T2 creeps. atavus's was the only team 2 player able to withstand the onslaught. During this time stevetrov was able to get a X room upto RCL6 (it had been delayed by nyooms effective attacks) and allowed him to take the fight to atavus with T3 creeps, against T3 atavus didn't stand a chance and fell. With the defeat of atavus Team 2 had zero presence on the map and the game was over.

There will be a few rule changes from what we learnt in the first round:
- The signup period will be 5 days starting from today.
- Two team captains will be chosen by the competition organiser and teams will be decided by captains pick. Team 1 chooses first then each captain get two picks at a time. 12211221122 etc..
- The competition lasts upto 4 weeks
- Domination victory: if at any point after 1 week one team manages to destroy all of the spawns of the other team (excluding any respawns still in safemode) whilst owning at least 5 spawns in rooms RCL 6+ then they win.
- Otherwise the team with the most active power spawns at the end wins, (ie only power spawns in RCL8 rooms count)
- Due to the isolation of shard2 there will not be a compulsary sign up fee in this round. To ensure your place is registered send a message on slack to stevetrov, once players are registered they will appear on the spreadsheet
- Once the teams are assigned participants can add up to 2.5m credits as a bet, to place a bet you need to have a terminal on either shard0 or shard1

- There will be NPC terminals at the cross roads, in round 1 npc terminals were useless due to a bug, this will be fixed for round 2
