<![CDATA[Steam Client not launching; missing nw.exe]]>When launching Screeps from Steam, I get an error that \steamapps\common\Screeps\nw.exe is missing. This started after the most recent update. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no change. Anyone else having a similar issue?

  • Uninstall Screeps via steam.

  • Goto your steam folder and delete the Screeps folder. (ex: Steam\steamapps\common\Screeps)

  • Install Screeps via Steam.

I attempted the other fixes recommended before this and they did not work.

I'm not sure what happened, but after leaving for a few hours, I came back to it working. When I reported the issue, my steamapps folder only had the server directory, but now it has the rest of the game files.

Issue may be with the Steam client erroring out while downloading updates or treating it as complete while it is still in progress.

As I mentioned above, after leaving the house for a while, I came back to things working. Not really sure what happened.

The appmanifest file that gets created for installs and updates is missing for Screeps at around the time I performed the update. My guess is that the Steam client retried the download for you sometime later whereas I was way too impatient for it. lol
